Fresh Starts
I definitely love a fresh start. Every week seems like a new start for me.
We are now officially into the Fall of 2022 and I feel another new start has arrived. I am excited about changing my workouts because I can't keep riding my bike and swimming outside anymore. I am excited about trying out different workout classes at the local gym for the cold season. I am excited about putting my summer clothes downstairs and bringing up my sweaters and boots. (We have a very small closet so we have to do this lol.) I am also so excited about the change of pace that happens in the winter. So many things are changing now.
I think everything around us constantly changes and has new starts for a reason. I think God put it into the world to show us something.
I believe it was to show us that repentance and change should happen IN us, personally, and that it should happen often. We aren't meant to just be the same people. We need to make mistakes, repent and change. We are to try new things, experience what God has given to us, work hard, stretch ourselves, and again, change.
A friend of mine was sharing to me today how she feels like she puts her happiness always in the past or the future. Like she always says she was happy when ... and that she will be happy when ... But never happy in the moment.
That can happen to us when it comes to changing too. I already changed so much in the past. Or I will change in the future.
No!
We need to change now, right now. We need to set goals that will help us change.
My current weekly goal: Be More Positive. This is a goal of mine for the whole year, but I'm not doing a great job at it. So I am going to focus on it exclusively for the next 7 days. I know it will take a lot of mind work because my negativity starts in my thoughts. But how else will I change? How else can I have a fresh start at being a better person if I don't try.
We all deserve restarts in our life. The Lord of the universe offers you one every single moment. Choose how you will have a fresh start for this Fall, this new month of October, this new week, this new day. The opportunities for change are endless. And change is OH SO GOOD!!! Don't be afraid of it.
