Momming at Home
My amazing husband got an amazing chance to go to New Zealand to lay to rest his wonderful grandmother. We prayed about it and knew he needed to go.
So I planned to stay home with our 4 kids. However, I don’t like being home alone, especially for how long he’d be gone. So I reached out to my awesome dad and he said we could stay with them while Malachi was gone!
We worked out the logistics and we were all looking forward to some adventures!
Starting with my dad driving from California to pick up me and my kids! Then letting us stay at his house, eat his food, make messes, give him headaches, haha and all the things that come with 5 new people in his house and 4 of those people being age 6 and under lol. Most credit goes to his wife for all she did for us! They are thoughtful people!
Okay so I had so much help from them! However, their dad was gone so I was solo on a lot of parenting duties like teaching, correcting, brushing teeth, changing diapers, etc… My dad and his wife were so helpful with food and fun!! Emphasis on the fun!! But it was still a heavy thing for me
Well fast forward to us being home and back to “momming” in my home, in our routine, etc.
And I just have so much gratitude for what I took for granted. I’m so grateful for our home that I use to think was small and always messy. Because when you’re in someone else’s house, you’re hyper aware of messes and it’s wayyyy more stressful because you’re not trying to make other people crazy because of your kids messes. So I’m a bit more patient at our home because it only affects me now haha. I’m so grateful for the chance to be a mom. My life has so much purpose. In the chaos of 4 kids in a new location, I was small kine thinking 4 kids was a bad idea hahaha. But now being back home, man it feels so right! I love my people. These kids are the best, despite the daily challenges! I wouldn’t change a thing!!
Anyway… kind of all over the place… but there is just nothing like the chaos of traveling with 4 kids to make me so grateful for all that I have now that I am back home ❤️🙏🏼
